Kepler's secrets

par Pro web News Team 21 Janvier 2016, 12:29

The exoplanet Kepler 452b is at about 1400 Light-year (3 245 400 000 000 000 km) far from the Earth, in the orbit of Kepler 452, the star which gives its name to this twice as big as the Earth planet. It seems that this planet might be habitable, first because of its star which is only 10% bigger and 20% brighter for the same surface temperature as the Sun; moreover, this exoplanet is at a perfect distance from its star to have liquid water at its surface, an atmosphere, a solid surface; on the top of that, and it’s a bonus, one year on Kepler 452b is only 20 days longer.

This planet could not only be habitable but also inhabited, so NASA has decided to integrate Kepler 452b into the SETI program, Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence, this program has been created to look for any extra-terrestrial radio-signal from space. For the moment, we can only dream of this planet because we haven’t got any photograph of it and we cannot send some people to land on Kepler 452b, so we can just imagine in an unknown future a grandfather speaking to his grandson of our lost planet, the Earth.
